Fortolkende retorisk sanntidskritikk. Studie av en brevskrivers retoriske arbeidsprosesser

Retorisk kritikk handler gjerne om teksters retoriske funksjon innenfor historiske, kulturelle og sosiale kontekster.1 I foreliggende artikkel er fokus imidlertid flyttet bort fra slutteksten og over på de mange flyktige, kladdepregede og fragmentariske underveistekstene som produseres i løpet av et skrivearbeid, og som til sammen danner sluttekstens tilblivelseshistorie. Gjennom ei fortolkende nærlesing2 av én slik kronologisk ordnet genesetekst søkes det innsikt i retoriske arbeidsprosesser og drivkrefter bak den fortløpende tekstutviklinga. Forsøket på å utvide tekstbegrepet innenfor retorisk kritikk, og dermed kople retorikk opp mot nyere skriveforskning, ledsages av en presentasjon av skriveteoretiske fagtradisjoner som sanntidsorientert skriveforskning er sprunget ut av.
