Abstract

Den moderne retoriske kritiks sparsomme behandling af anklager har to fællestræk, som danner udgangspunkt for denne artikel. Det første er en fundering af anklagen i et bekræftende motiv. Det andet er en implicit placering af anklagen som en retorisk genre. Ingen af disse er dog blevet udfoldet i særlig høj grad. Denne artikel tager udgangspunkt i Carolyn Millers retoriske genreteori og Celeste Michelle Condits arbejde med vred offentlig retorik for at afdække anklagens sociale motiv ud fra en emotionel ramme. Der argumenteres her for, at hovedmotivet skal findes i ønsket om korrigerende handling, som understøttes yderligere af henholdsvis et definitorisk og et moralsk motiv. Dette udgangspunkt bruges til at afdække generationsanklagen som en specifik form for anklage samt analysere denne form i Greta Thunbergs retoriske anklage mod ældre generationer i klimadebatten.
