Abstract

Med udgangspunkt i Walter Fishers teori om det narrative paradigme diskuterer og opdaterer denne artikel et funktionelt perspektiv på narrativ retorik, hvor fortællinger forstås som meningsskabende, identitetskonstruerende og kulturbærende. Artiklen introducerer begrebet retorisk rammefortælling, der defineres som den blandt flere kulturelle fortællinger (masterplots), der indtager en styrende rolle i forhold til en retorisk ytrings udformning. Rammefortællingen som begreb giver den retoriske kritiker anledning til at beskrive både de interne og intertekstuelle dynamikker, som opstår i en tekst med flere indlejrede fortællinger.
